True/False Stories
This happened when I was seven years old. I was in the bus with my friend and I think we were going back home after school. I’m the sort who only likes to sit in the window seat. I had to always sit near the window. I hated it whenever I had to sit on the other side. I don’t know why but that day I was feeling a bit angry and I was in a bad mood. My friend and I boarded the bus but this time, she got the window seat. She refused to move even after I told her that I wanted the window seat. I got so worked up and angry that I pushed her away really hard. She actually fell down on the bus. She had a few scratches on her arms. I felt really bad when she stared to cry but I didn’t bother to say sorry due to my frustration.

I used to join a lot of competitions when I was in secondary school. During that time period, there was a cluster competition happening in which my school was taking part. To some, it was no surprise that I was chosen to take part but I was ecstatic due to the opportunity given to me to represent my school. Not surprisingly, I spent a lot of time preparing for my big essay. After the competitions, we had to wait for two weeks for the results to be announced. Those two weeks were filled with anxiety. Finally, the results were out. My form teacher broke the good news during assembly. What gave me added joy was the fact that I had won $200 prize money! When I went on stage to receive the $200 from my principal, she invited me to say a few words. This was an opportunity for me to do what I also wanted to do. I pledged the prize money to my school’s needy student fund. I had seen one of my friend who was below the average income group, struggle to pay school fees. It made me feel good to help others.
